How did you make the decision to have your child participate in the program?

By talking to Pamala, who came to the house to tell me about Head Start for my child, Michelle.

How have you been able to give input into how your child's needs are met?
By going and talking to her teachers and others on staff.

Who are the ongoing participants on your child's IEP team?
physical therapist, occupational therapist, family involvement specialist, school psychologist

How are you communicated with on a daily or weekly basis?
We communicate by a weekly folder.

How has the program benefited your child?
Michelle is communicating to others more clearly. She has confidence to involve herself with other people (adults and children).

Does your child have a special friend?
Yes, although each year it has changed.

What advice would you give to other parents in placing their children in inclusive programs?
Do it! Please try this! It can only be a good thing for your child.

To what extent do you feel involved in the overall program?
Right at his time, I feel very involved on committees and by parent volunteering.

How do you feel your child is benefiting from the inclusive aspect of the program?
In every way! She doesn't feel left out or different and she models her behavior on other children she is dealing with.

Have you had any concerns? If so, how have these concerns been addressed?
Yes, about her speech. By talking to me in depth about everything they are doing with my child and how she is reacting to it all.
