Buddy Ball is for all children with special needs from preschool to 21 years of age. The children have a buddy with them at all times. The "buddies" are from the community. The "buddies" consist of the athletes from Independence and Coffeyville Community Colleges. The parents, teachers, and friends also volunteer their time with the students. All the students are able to bat at each inning and they switch to the outfield. They play three to four innings. Buddy Ball was organized through the city recreation programs in Coffeyville and Independence with the help of parents. This is a great opportunity for the community and people with special needs to work together!
