Program Services

Services are provided on a flexible basis, allowing clients to select different days/hours each week depending on their work needs. Extension of time on a daily basis is granted spontaneously due to the unpredictable nature of health care employees' work. School age care includes before and after school care, transportation to select schools and non-school day services based on need. Additional services include dance, gymnastics, and swimming class offerings. The Margaret Krebsbach Memorial Mildly Ill Child Program, made possible through memorial funds upon the death of a parent from our program, offers care to children three months through 12 years of age within specific guidelines of illness.

Educational Philosophy
Bryan Child Development Center believes that early experiences can create life long learning opportunities. The most valuable experiences generally fall into three categories; responsibility, success/failure, and self esteem. If children are taught to care for themselves, others and the things we have, to learn from failure and success, and to be their own champion when no one else around them will, they will be able to achieve growth in any environment. We believe that play is a child's most fulfilling learning environment. Couple that with adults that can effectively observe/spontaneously guide and a healthy, safe, spacious area in which to "work", children can thrive. This program believes and follows the practices of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is accredited through their Academy.

Program Description
Bryan Child Development Center provides a developmental, family focus for all ages. Infant Specialists set goals for each child and develop experiences that will challenge them to grow in six defined areas of development. Toddler through school age typical development levels are based on criteria from Lincoln Public School's assessments and "Good Beginnings" materials. Formal progress reports are completed for each child at various milestones and shared with family. Reports Identify skills achieved and those emerging. Formal conferences include time for families and teachers to set individual goals for children together. The Kindergarten follows the NE Department of Education guidelines. All program components are based on the belief that children learn best through play. Daily routines contain a balance of both teacher and child directed activity.
