How did you learn about the inclusive program?
I learned about Head Start about 5 years ago. I learned about this specific program when the Head Start teacher came prior to my son starting school.

How do you feel your child is benefiting from the inclusive aspect of the program?
I feel he has become much more outgoing. He has "come out of his shell." He talks about all the kids and talks about some of the children needing "special attention," but accepts them as his friends and understands that we are all different in some ways.

Have you had any concerns? If so, how have these concerns been addressed?
One of my concerns with my son was his speech, and as soon as I mentioned it, my concerns were addressed. He was tested, but didn't qualify for special education, but I know he is still getting extra attention in the program because the speech teacher is right there.

I did not have any concerns about Matthew being included with kids with special needs. I think it's a good idea and I think it's outstanding that they are all doing it. I think it will cut down the possibility of "teasing" when kids get older, if they're all together in the beginning.
