Program Services
St. Benedict's Special Children's Center (St. Ben's) provides quality childcare in Kansas City, Kansas. We specialize in serving children with a variety of special needs. The Center shares a building with other family support programs sponsored by Catholic Community Services, including migrant education services, refugee services, and a Teen Parent Program. Children from these programs and the community join children identified as eligible to receive Special Education services in infant care, toddler care and in the three preschool, mixed age group (ages 2 1/2 to 5) classrooms. This year each of the preschool classrooms has also served several Head Start students. The Infant room is staffed by one ECSE teacher, one paraprofessional two times per week, one EC teacher and two assistant teachers. The class is made up of from one to three children with Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) and six to eight children who are not identified as needing special services making a total of nine infants.

The Toddler room is staffed by one ECSE teacher, one paraprofessional two times per week, one paraprofessional four days per week, one EC teacher and two assistants. The class consists of nine children five of whom have an IFSP.
